ED OLIVER WINS AIA AWARD

Palm City, Florida –Ed Oliver, the leader of the “Alpha Division” of the long-established architectural firm of Oliver-Glidden-Spina & Partners, recently received an AIA “Award of Excellence for Renovation Design” for the Fidelity Investments Building at 230 Royal Palm Way in Palm Beach.

This project was a “major” renovation of a 40 year old, 4 story, 20,000 sq. ft. office bldg. located on Royal Palm Way in Palm Beach, also known as “Banker’s Row”.

The architectural style is a traditional design composition compatible with a classic design style which reinforces the character of the Royal Palm Way streetscape.

While the structure of the existing building was maintained, the renovation included an extensive redesign and remodeling of the building exterior as well as construction of new building components, fire protection, elevators, mechanical and electrical systems. The introduction of “divided lite” windows create a more appropriate scale for the main building elevations. A rooftop mounted A/C cooling tower provides a higher level of operational efficiency and energy savings for the tenants.

Architectural cast concrete trim, moldings and cladding of the 1st floor exterior walls was selected to project the quality and style typical of Palm Beach and to distinguish this particular building for its primary tenant, Fidelity Investments.

Oliver-Glidden-Spina & Partners is a full-service architectural firm, with offices in West Palm Beach and Palm City. Oliver and the Alpha Team are dedicated to the innovative design of commercial projects that demonstrate environmental stewardship while meeting the clients’ business objectives.
